Marcus Warren, Fentanyl Trafficking, Delaware 2026

⏱ 3 min read

Two Wilmington men, Marcus Warren, 35, and Donavan McGriff, 35, are facing serious federal heat after a bust on March 10, 2026, that turned up over a kilo and a half of fentanyl and four guns. The DEA and New Castle County Police say they’d been watching the pair as part of a drug investigation.

Agents hit McGriff’s car and both men were inside when they searched it. They found more than 400 grams of fentanyl pills stuffed inside. A search of Warren’s place uncovered roughly another kilogram of the deadly opioid, along with three firearms – including a homemade ‘ghost gun’ with no serial number. McGriff’s home yielded a fourth gun.

Warren is charged with possession with intent to distribute that massive amount of fentanyl, plus being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. He’s staring down a mandatory minimum of 10 years and could get life. McGriff, also a prohibited person, is charged with having a gun and faces a max of 15 years behind bars.

While the feds are touting the bust, it’s likely sentencing will fall short of the maximum penalties. A federal judge will take the sentencing guidelines and other factors into account before handing down the final verdict. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin B. Smith is leading the prosecution.
