Child Predator Caught Distributing Explicit Content to Followers
Mark Alan Stoneking, a 40-year-old man from Elyria, Ohio, has pleaded guilty to distributing images of child pornography using his Twitter account.
According to the plea agreement, Stoneking admitted to sharing sexually explicit photos of children on December 20, 2014, and January 6, 2015, through his Twitter account.
A search warrant executed by the Henderson Police Department and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at his former residence in Henderson, Nevada, on January 12, 2016, uncovered over 600 videos and more than 200,000 images of child pornography on electronic devices.
Stoneking faces a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years, along with a $250,000 fine. He will also be required to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
The case was investigated by the FBI and the Henderson Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Tony Lopez prosecuting the case.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
