CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A Detroit man has been sentenced to 51 months in prison for his role in a prescription painkiller trafficking ring in West Virginia.
Markus Deanthony Franklin, 22, also known as ‘Diego,’ was sentenced on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 to 51 months in prison for his involvement in the trafficking of oxycodone in Monongalia County, West Virginia in September 2014.
According to court documents, Franklin sold oxycodone in Monongalia County, West Virginia in September 2014. He pleaded guilty in June 2015 to one count of ‘Aiding and Abetting Distribution of Oxycodone.’
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Mon Metro Drug and Violent Crime Task Force investigated the case.
Franklin, a Detroit native, was arrested and charged in connection with the trafficking of oxycodone in West Virginia. He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley.
