Marleka Robinson, Fentanyl Trafficking, Pennsylvania 2016

A Turtle Creek woman has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for her role in her brother’s fentanyl trafficking operation.

Marleka Robinson, 26, was sentenced by United States District Judge Cathy Bissoon for her conviction of narcotics trafficking, according to a statement from Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman.

Robinson was convicted of obtaining a large quantity of fentanyl from a distributor in the Knoxville section of Pittsburgh at the request of her brother, Jerry Coker. She then returned the drugs to the residence she shared with Coker and their sister, Monique Robinson.

On September 11, 2016, Robinson obtained over 285 grams of fentanyl, along with small quantities of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana. A search warrant executed at the Coker residence the following day resulted in the seizure of the drugs and other evidence, including two Smith & Wesson pistols and $8,900 in cash.

Robinson admitted to transporting narcotics for Coker on multiple occasions. Prior to imposing sentence, Judge Bissoon stated that a sentence of 18 months imprisonment reflected the serious nature of her conduct, her lack of criminal history, and the limited role in the trafficking activity that Robinson played.

Assistant United States Attorney Carolyn J. Bloch prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. Acting United States Attorney Kaufman commended the Drug Enforcement Agency for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Robinson.

Robinson will serve 18 months in federal prison and 2 years of supervised release following her release. The case serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of involvement in narcotics trafficking and the importance of cooperation with law enforcement.
