A 26-year-old Buffalo, New York man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in a crack cocaine distribution conspiracy in Pennsylvania. Marlin Scott was found guilty of conspiring to distribute 28 grams or more of crack cocaine, a serious crime that poses a significant threat to public health and safety.
According to court documents, the investigation into Scott’s activities began in 2015, when law enforcement agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the New Castle Police Department launched a wiretap investigation into drug trafficking in the New Castle area.
The investigation revealed that Scott had conspired with others to possess with intent to distribute and distribute crack cocaine, which was transported from Buffalo, New York, to the New Castle, Pennsylvania area for further distribution. Scott was arrested and charged with the crime, and was subsequently convicted and sentenced to seven years in prison.
U.S. Attorney Scott Brady commended the law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation, saying that their work was instrumental in bringing Scott to justice. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tonya Sulia Goodman prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
