A massive heroin ring bust in Minnesota has brought down a notorious operation, and at its center is Maron Bailey, a 36-year-old man from Minneapolis.
According to court documents, Bailey, also known as ‘Maron Brown,’ stands accused of leading a large-scale heroin distribution network that flooded the streets of Minneapolis with deadly doses of the highly addictive opioid.
The United States v. Brown, a federal criminal case, was filed in the District Court of Minnesota (D. Minnesota) under docket number 0:23-cr-00160. The cause of action is still pending, but authorities have confirmed that Bailey’s operation brought in millions of dollars in illicit revenue.
Prosecutors have charged Bailey with multiple counts of heroin distribution, conspiracy to distribute heroin, and money laundering. If convicted, Bailey faces up to life in prison and millions of dollars in fines.
The case has garnered attention from law enforcement agencies across the nation, who have commended the efforts of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for their role in dismantling the heroin ring.
