Marquis Trammel, Violating Federal Firearms Laws, Pennsylvania 2016

Pittsburgh teen, Marquis Trammel, 19, has been charged with violating federal firearms laws, according to a federal indictment announced by Acting United States Attorney Soo C. Song.

The indictment charges Trammel with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon and stealing firearms from a licensed firearms dealer. On December 20, 2016, Trammel allegedly stole five rifles and ammunition from the Dunham’s Discount Sports store in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.

Trammel, who has a prior felony robbery conviction, is precluded from possessing a firearm or ammunition, according to the indictment. The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine not greater than $250,000, or both.

Assistant United States Attorney Amy L. Johnston is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the West Mifflin Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.

This case is being prosecuted under Project Safe Neighborhoods, a collaborative effort by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, prosecutors and communities to prevent, deter and prosecute gun crime.
