Pittsburgh Man Indicted for Meth Possession
A River Rouge, Michigan, resident has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of violating federal narcotics laws, Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman announced today. Martell Agee, 31, is the sole defendant in the one-count Indictment.
According to the Indictment, on or about December 1, 2020, Agee possessed with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not less than ten years to a maximum of life in prison, a fine not to exceed $10,000,000 or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Ira M. Karoll is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration and Pennsylvania State Police conducted the investigation leading to the Indictment in this case, which was coordinated with the Greene County District Attorney’s Office.
An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
