OKLAHOMA CITY – Marlon Dewayne Martin, 48, of Oklahoma City, will spend the next two decades behind bars after being sentenced to 240 months in federal prison for the horrific crime of child sex trafficking. The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Judge David L. Russell, reflects the gravity of Martin’s actions and a clear message that the exploitation of children will not be tolerated.
According to court records, Martin began exploiting a 15-year-old homeless girl in September 2023, after she was recruited by an accomplice. The pair conspired to profit from the minor by forcing her into commercial sex acts. Martin knowingly trafficked the girl for five months, arranging dates, providing transportation and lodging – even collecting the money earned from her exploitation. The depravity didn’t stop there; Martin also produced and distributed child pornography featuring the victim.
“The exploitation of minors is among the most reprehensible crimes we confront, and those who prey on children will face the full weight of the justice system,” stated U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester. His words underscore the unwavering commitment of federal authorities to protect vulnerable children and hold predators accountable. Judge Russell echoed this sentiment, citing Martin’s extensive criminal history – including 15 prior convictions ranging from assault on a police officer to drug distribution and DUIs – as a key factor in the severe sentence.
The investigation, a collaborative effort between the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBN) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), revealed the full scope of Martin’s monstrous behavior. Donnie Anderson, Director of the OBN, described Martin’s actions as “pure evil,” praising the relentless work of his agency’s Human Trafficking Unit in rescuing the victim and ensuring Martin faced justice. James Carmany, Assistant Special Agent in Charge for HSI Dallas – Oklahoma Division, emphasized the importance of interagency cooperation in combating child sexual exploitation.
Martin was indicted by a federal Grand Jury on September 17, 2024, and subsequently pleaded guilty on February 7, 2025, admitting to renting a hotel for the victim and driving her to engage in commercial sex acts. Beyond the prison term, Martin will face a lifetime of supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bow Bottomly skillfully prosecuted the case, securing a conviction that will hopefully offer a measure of justice for the victim.
