Tracy Daryl Mingo, dubbed the Master of Disguise, terrorized Atlanta-area businesses with nearly a dozen armed robberies from October 20, 2025, to January 1, 2026. Mingo allegedly targeted store employees at gunpoint, donning various disguises to evade identification. The string of robberies spanned multiple cities, including College Park, Decatur, East Point, Fairburn, Marietta, and Union City.
Mingo’s alleged modus operandi involved entering stores late at night, after customers had left, and robbing employees at gunpoint. He wore different disguises, including a construction worker, health care professional, and security guard, to throw investigators off his trail.
The FBI and local law enforcement partners collaborated to track down Mingo, finally apprehending him on January 2, 2026. At the time of his arrest, Mingo was preparing to use the same security guard disguise he had worn during a previous robbery. The Master of Disguise now faces federal charges for his alleged role in the armed robberies.
U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg and Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta Marlo Graham praised the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in identifying and arresting Mingo before anyone was seriously hurt. The case highlights the strength of partnerships between federal and local authorities in combating violent crime.
