Orlando Man Charged with Transporting Child Sex Abuse Material
An Orlando man has been arrested and charged with transporting child sex abuse material, a federal crime that carries a harsh penalty.
According to the complaint, between August and October of 2024, Matthew A. Inman (39, Orlando) received and saved several videos of child sexual abuse material to his phone. These videos depicted adults sexually assaulting young children.
Inman’s alleged crimes continued when he traveled to Las Vegas and began talking online with an undercover law enforcement officer posing as the father of a 9-year-old boy. During this conversation, Inman expressed interest in meeting and sexually assaulting the purported child. He also sent CSAM videos to the undercover officer.
The FBI obtained a search warrant for Inman’s electronic devices and residence. During the execution of the search warrant, Inman attempted to delete the evidence from his phone and hide in the attic of his house.
Transportation of child sex abuse material is a federal crime punishable by law. If convicted, Inman faces a minimum penalty of 5 years, up to 20 years, in federal prison. A criminal complaint is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.
This case was investigated by the FBI and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Richard Varadan. It is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
