A Hardy County man has been sentenced to serve 80 months in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation.
Matthew Curtis Delawder, 38, of Moorefield, West Virginia, was sentenced on no specific date given in the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.
Delawder pleaded guilty in April 2021 to one count of ‘Distribution of Methamphetamine.’
According to court documents, Delawder admitted to selling methamphetamine in Hardy County in October 2020.
As part of his sentence, Delawder was also ordered to forfeit three firearms, ammunition, and $4942 in cash believed to be proceeds from the crime.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
The case was investigated by the Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the West Virginia State Police.
Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the sentencing hearing.
