Pittsburgh, PA – Maurice Miller, a 35-year-old formerly of Churchill, PA, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for violating federal firearms and narcotics laws, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced today (April 30, 2024).
Maurice Miller was sentenced to 120 months imprisonment and five years of supervised release on his conviction of violating federal firearms and narcotics laws. According to information presented to the court, Miller participated in a conspiracy to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin, 280 grams or more of crack cocaine, 100 grams or more of acetyl fentanyl and valeryl fentanyl, and 400 grams or more of fentanyl. Miller also possessed with intent to distribute 10 grams or more of acetyl fentanyl and possessed firearms and ammunition as a convicted felon.
The possession of firearms and/or ammunition as a convicted felon is prohibited under federal law. Miller was prosecuted following an investigation into a drug trafficking organization referred to as ‘Hustlas Don’t Sleep,’ which involved the distribution of a variety of types of illegal narcotics.
Assistant United States Attorney Brendan T. Conway prosecuted this case on behalf of the government. This prosecution is a result of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation, which identifies, disrupts, and dismantles high-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal organizations that threaten communities throughout the United States.
United States Attorney Chung commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Monroeville Police Department, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, and the Allegheny County Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Miller.
The case is a result of an OCDETF investigation, which uses a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach that leverages the strengths of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies against criminal networks.
