Mbord Sentenced for Beating Vulnerable Adult

Washington – A brutal attack on a vulnerable adult has led to the sentencing of Fouodzing Mbord, 49, who pleaded guilty to abusing an elderly patient under his care. Mbord was caught on security camera striking the victim multiple times, and he was ultimately sentenced to 180 days in jail, suspended in full, with a one-year probation term.

The disturbing incident occurred in November 2023 when Metropolitan Police were called to the home of the vulnerable adult, who was bedridden following a stroke. The abuse was discovered after the victim’s sister installed security cameras due to concerns for her brother’s welfare.

Mbord, a home health aide, claimed that his actions were in response to the victim passing gas in his face while he was cleaning him. He also threatened further abuse if the behavior continued. This callous disregard for the safety and dignity of an elderly individual has shocked the community and led to a significant legal consequence.

Following the arrest on November 20, 2023, Inspector General Daniel W. Lucas of the D.C. Office of the Inspector General (D.C.-OIG) joined U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro in commending the efforts of law enforcement and prosecution agencies involved in the case.

U.S. Attorney Pirro and Inspector General Lucas also recognized Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Emmanuela Charles for her role in the successful prosecution, which was conducted while she was on detail from the DC-OIG. The sentence reflects a strong message that such abuse will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the critical importance of monitoring and protecting vulnerable adults who rely on caregivers for their care and safety.
