Elkins Woman Admits to Drug Distribution Charge

In a shocking turn of events, Melinda Sharon Higgins, 39, of Elkins, West Virginia, has admitted to distributing hydromorphone in Randolph County. Higgins’ guilty plea to one count of ‘Distribution of Hydromorphone’ has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many to wonder what led her down this path.

According to court documents, Higgins admitted to distributing hydromorphone in Randolph County in April 2018. This disturbing admission has raised concerns about the prevalence of drug distribution in the area and the need for increased law enforcement presence.

Higgins faces up to 20 years incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
