CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – In a shocking turn of events, 46-year-old Oscar Willard Thomas, also known as ‘Will Thomas,’ has been sentenced to 30 months incarceration for methamphetamine distribution, announced United States Attorney Bill Powell.
Thomas’s downfall began in September 2016, when he sold methamphetamine in Randolph County. His actions did not go unnoticed, and after a thorough investigation, he was charged with one count of ‘Distribution of Methamphetamine.’
In a surprising twist, Thomas pled guilty to the charges in November 2018. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crime Drug Task Force investigated the matter.
The investigation was funded by the federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Program (OCDETF). This program provides critical federal funding and coordination, allowing federal and state agencies to work together to identify, investigate, and prosecute major interstate and international drug trafficking organizations and other criminal enterprises.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the case, handing down the 30-month sentence to Thomas. This sentence serves as a stern warning to those involved in the distribution of methamphetamine and other illicit substances.
