Methamphetamine Distribution in Huntington, West Virginia
On February 25, 2021, a shocking case of methamphetamine distribution unfolded in Huntington, West Virginia. Melissa Dawn Lockhart, 49, of Huntington, was involved in the sale of a highly addictive and dangerous substance.
According to court documents and statements made in court, Lockhart sold approximately 5 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant at her Huntington residence. This illicit transaction led to her arrest and subsequent charges.
Lockhart’s crimes caught the attention of the authorities, and she will now face the consequences. She pleaded guilty to the federal drug crime and is scheduled to be sentenced on February 21, 2023.
The maximum penalty for this crime is 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine. Lockhart’s future hangs in the balance as she awaits her sentencing date.
