Andre Treadwell, Semi-Trailer Burglary, Tennessee 2024

Memphis, TN – A 32-year-old Memphis man, Andre Treadwell, has been sentenced to 46 months in federal prison for his role in a brazen semi-trailer burglary. United States Attorney Kevin Ritz announced the sentence, which follows Treadwell’s guilty plea on January 30, 2024.

The crime spree began on May 5, 2022, when Treadwell and an accomplice allegedly broke into a parked semi-trailer in Memphis. The trailer, en route from Ontario, Canada, contained at least six DuroMax Dual Fuel generators that were reported stolen. The victims, a truck driver and his wife, reported hearing movement in the back of the trailer and later discovered a shot had been fired.

Investigators traced the stolen generators to Treadwell’s residence, where they also found bolt cutters, an AR-15 rifle, ammunition, and bottles of Jimador Tequila stolen from an earlier shipment. Treadwell was charged with possession of stolen goods and as a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

On May 3, 2024, United States District Judge Thomas L. Parker sentenced Treadwell to serve his prison term without parole, followed by three years of supervised release. The Memphis Cargo Theft Task Force, a multi-agency unit established in 2008, led the investigation into this case, with additional support from the Memphis Police Department.

United States Attorney Ritz extended his thanks to Assistant United States Attorney Eileen Kuo for her prosecution efforts and to all law enforcement partners involved in bringing Treadwell to justice.
