Methamphetamine Trafficking Allegations Hit Danbury

A Danbury man has been accused of methamphetamine trafficking in Connecticut.

Brandt Mendelson, 30, of Danbury, was arrested on a warrant related to a federal indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing methamphetamine, according to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan.

The indictment, returned on June 17, 2025, alleges that on January 18, 2025, Mendelson was driving under the influence when he was stopped by the Wallingford Police. At the time of his arrest, Mendelson possessed numerous counterfeit Adderall pills that contained methamphetamine and were packaged to be shipped through the U.S. Mail.

U.S. Attorney Sullivan stressed that an indictment is not evidence of guilt. Charges are only allegations, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Mendelson was released on a $100,000 bond. If convicted of the charge, he faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of five years and a maximum term of imprisonment of 40 years.

The case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Wallingford Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nathaniel J. Gentile.
