Jody Lee Davis, a 47-year-old Hopkinton felon, has been sentenced to 17.5 years in federal prison for attempting to manufacture methamphetamine with his wife in June 2015.
According to court documents, Davis and his wife, Lisa Ann Davis, were arrested on June 20, 2015, after a search warrant was executed at their Hopkinton home by deputies from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. The couple was charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine and other related charges.
Davis pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Manufacture and Aiding and Abetting the Attempted Manufacture of Methamphetamine in November 2015. He admitted to having three prior methamphetamine-related Iowa felony convictions at the time of the attempted manufacture.
Lisa Ann Davis was also convicted of three federal methamphetamine-related charges in November 2015 and is awaiting sentencing. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Timothy L. Vavricek and Special Assistant United States Attorney Erin Eldridge, and investigated by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
Davis was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge Linda R. Reade to 210 months’ imprisonment, followed by a three-year term of supervised release. A special assessment of $100 was also imposed. Davis is being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.
