Methamphetamine Kingpin Sentenced to 80 Months in Prison
MOBILE, Ala. – Albert Emil Tillman, 34, a notorious methamphetamine manufacturer from Atmore, Alabama, has been sentenced to 80 months in prison for his involvement in a large-scale methamphetamine scheme.
Tillman was also found guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, according to court documents. This conviction comes on the heels of his guilty plea in March 2012.
U.S. District Court Judge Callie V. S. Granade handed down the sentence, which includes 80 months imprisonment for each charge, to run concurrently. Tillman will also serve a four year term of supervised release after his release from prison, during which he will undergo testing and treatment for drug abuse as a condition of his supervised release.
Tillman was ordered to pay a special mandatory assessment of $200, but was spared a fine. The investigation into Tillman’s illicit activities was a collaborative effort between the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the Bay Minette Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Gloria Bedwell of the United States Attorney’s Office.
Tillman’s sentence serves as a stark reminder that the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine will not be tolerated in Alabama. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and provide updates as more information becomes available.
