Jorge Barron, Possession With Intent To Distribute Methamphetamine, Oklahoma 2018

Muskogee, Oklahoma – A 21-year-old man from Boulder, Colorado, is facing a minimum of 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Jorge Barron, 21, entered a guilty plea to Possession With Intent To Distribute Methamphetamine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(A) and Title 18, United States Code, Section 2, punishable by not less than 10 years imprisonment, up to a $10,000,000.00 fine, or both.

The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Henryetta Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, which alleged that on or about April 24, 2018, Barron knowingly and intentionally possessed with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine (actual), a Schedule II controlled substance.

The investigation was one of several operations aimed at curbing the flow of methamphetamine in Oklahoma. According to law enforcement officials, the state has seen a significant increase in methamphetamine-related crimes in recent years.

Barron’s guilty plea was accepted by the Honorable Steven P. Shreder, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee. The judge ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.

Assistant United States Attorney Rob Wallace represented the United States in the case. Wallace emphasized that the guilty plea marked a significant victory for law enforcement officials who had worked tirelessly to bring Barron to justice.

The case serves as a reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine and the importance of continued efforts to combat the drug trade in Oklahoma.
