Methamphetamine Ring Crumbles in Jackson County
Two men from Jackson County, Illinois, have been brought to justice after pleading guilty to conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine. Donald Gregory, 47, of Murphysboro, and Daniel Loden, 30, of Grand Tower, entered guilty pleas on October 9, 2013, and October 17, 2013, respectively.
The indictment, which charged conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, spanned from March 2011 to March 2013. Gregory is facing a term in prison of 5-40 years, a $5,000,000 fine, and 4 years of supervised release. Loden is facing up to 20 years in prison, a $1,000,000 fine, and 3 years of supervised release.
Both defendants are being held without bond pending their January 2014 sentencing hearings. The investigation, which led to their guilty pleas, was conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Murphysboro Police Department.
Assistant United States Attorney Amanda A. Robertson is prosecuting the case. The charges against Gregory and Loden are a significant blow to the methamphetamine ring that operated in Jackson County.
