Mario Lopez-Martinez, Immigration Violations, Florida 2026

⏱ 3 min read

A brazen repeat offender, Mario Lopez-Martinez, a 33-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to 16 months in federal prison for repeatedly breaking U.S. immigration laws by reentering the country after being deported.

Lopez-Martinez had departed the United States in 2017 following an Order of Removal by an Immigration Judge, but he ignored the law and returned twice in 2019 and 2020.

His brazen disregard for the law didn’t stop there. He was convicted of DUI and fleeing from a law enforcement officer in 2022 and 2026, respectively.

According to federal authorities, Lopez-Martinez’s actions posed a real threat to public safety, and the U.S. Attorney’s office in the Northern District of Florida vowed to aggressively prosecute such offenders.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations with assistance from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
