Michael Anthony Rangel, 43, of Ogden, Utah, was sentenced on July 2023 after a federal jury found him guilty of unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.

According to evidence presented at trial, and statements made at Rangel’s sentencing hearing, in July 2022, during a traffic stop, Rangel possessed a stolen Taurus PT111 G2 pistol. The firearm and associated ammunition were seized by law enforcement.
