Michael Habib, Associate of the Wolfpack Alliance, Sentenced to 17.5 Years in Prison for Narcotics Trafficking

A Canadian man, identified as MICHAEL HABIB, 38, of Toronto, Canada, has been sentenced to 17.5 years in prison for his role in a narcotics trafficking operation that spanned across the United States and into Canada.

Habib was an associate of the Wolfpack Alliance, a Canadian criminal organization, and was found guilty of conspiring to distribute thousands of kilograms of methamphetamine and cocaine. He pleaded guilty on December 20, 2023, and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge John P. Cronan on the same day.

According to court documents, Habib and his co-conspirators transported thousands of kilograms of cocaine and methamphetamine across the U.S. and into Canada, ordering drug-related shootings and kidnappings, and attempting to smuggle wanted international hitmen into the United States from Canada.

Habib’s sentencing follows the imposition of sentences on his co-defendants, SURINDER SINGH CHEEMA, BHUPINDER SINGH VIRK, and CHRISTOPHER BURGOS, who were sentenced to 18 years, 17.5 years, and 4.5 years, respectively.

Acting U.S. Attorney Matthew Podolsky praised the sentence, saying, ‘Today’s prison sentence will help protect the public from wanton violence and dangerous narcotics, and demonstrates our resolve to root out transnational criminal organizations like Wolfpack.’

The FBI Assistant Director in Charge, James E. Dennehy, also commended the sentence, stating, ‘The associates of the Wolfpack Alliance have all been rightly sentenced for establishing an international drug trafficking route to assist the flow of thousands of kilograms of methamphetamine and cocaine through our country into Canada.’

Habib’s sentencing is a significant blow to the Wolfpack Alliance, a notorious Canadian criminal organization that has been linked to numerous crimes, including narcotics trafficking, shootings, and kidnappings.
