McAlester Man Pleads Guilty to Methamphetamine Distribution

A McAlester man is facing serious charges after pleading guilty to methamphetamine distribution. Michael Keith Beall, age 61, entered a guilty plea to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

According to the indictment, on or about April 17, 2017, Beall knowingly and intentionally possessed with the intent to distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance. The charge arose from an investigation by the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Assistant United States Attorney Dean Burris represented the United States in the case. The Honorable Steven P. Shreder, U.S. Magistrate Judge, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.

Beall faces a maximum penalty of not more than 20 years imprisonment, and up to a $1,000,000.00 fine or both. The case is a reminder of the ongoing struggle against methamphetamine distribution in Oklahoma.
