BOSTON – Michael P. DiGirolamo, 55, of New York, has been indicted for allegedly conspiring to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of cargo and sell the items for illicit profit.
The indictment, unsealed in federal court in Boston, charges DiGirolamo with one count of conspiracy to commit cargo theft and five counts of cargo theft.

According to the indictment, DiGirolamo and his co-conspirators allegedly stole cargo from various locations in Alabama, including 33,750 pounds of frozen snow crabs worth approximately $325,000, beer worth approximately $35,200, pallets of blueberries, and more than $430,000 worth of designer cologne.
The indictment states that DiGirolamo and his co-conspirators sold the stolen cargo to various buyers, including online marketplaces and retail stores.
The indictment alleges that the conspiracy involved multiple states, including Alabama, where the cargo was stolen, and Massachusetts, where the stolen goods were sold.
An indictment is only a charge and not evidence of guilt. DiGirolamo is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
DiGirolamo was arrested on February 14, 2024, and is scheduled to appear in federal court in Boston on March 21, 2024.
