Michigan Man Sentenced for Oxycodone Trafficking
A 44-year-old man from Detroit, Michigan, has been sentenced to 48 months in federal prison for his involvement in a significant oxycodone trafficking operation.
Calvin Allen was convicted of possession with intent to distribute oxycodone after selling the highly addictive painkiller to a confidential informant in 2017. The transaction took place in the parking lot of Tractor Supply in Oak Hill, West Virginia.
According to a statement from Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston, the investigative work of the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force played a crucial role in bringing Allen to justice.
United States District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin imposed the sentence, which is a result of the diligent efforts of Assistant United States Attorney Alex Hamner.
Allen’s sentence serves as a reminder of the severe consequences that individuals face when engaging in illicit activities that put the health and safety of our communities at risk.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia has made it clear that they will continue to work tirelessly to combat the opioid epidemic and hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
