Three South Dakotans are facing federal time after being caught in a 46-pound marijuana manufacturing and distribution ring. Meddore Maurice Douville, 45, and Jeremy Joseph Douville, 21, both of Mission, South Dakota, alongside Teeana Shannon Two Eagle, 24, of Parmelee, South Dakota, were indicted on December 20, 2016, on charges of Conspiracy to Manufacture and Distribute a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Manufacture and Distribute, Distribution of a Controlled Substance, and simple Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The indictment alleges that between December 5 and December 14, 2016, the trio conspired to cook and move massive quantities of marijuana across the District of South Dakota. On December 5 and 6, they allegedly held onto the stash with clear intent to push it onto the streets. The same day, December 5, prosecutors say they completed at least one distribution—sealing their path to federal court.
On December 30, 2016, all three appeared before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Mark A. Moreno, where they formally entered not guilty pleas. Despite their claims of innocence, each faces a maximum penalty of 5 years behind bars, a $250,000 fine, three years of supervised release, forfeiture of seized U.S. currency, and a $500 payment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may be added if ordered by the court.
The investigation that cracked the case wide open was led by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services and the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force—agencies that have intensified pressure on cross-jurisdictional drug operations in rural tribal lands. Authorities say the bust reflects broader patterns of organized trafficking exploiting reservation boundaries.
Assistant U.S. Attorney SaraBeth Donovan is leading the prosecution. With trial set for March 7, 2017, federal prosecutors are expected to present seized currency, surveillance data, and chain-of-possession evidence to prove the conspiracy beyond a reasonable doubt. The defendants remain in custody as the case moves forward.
