A convicted marijuana dealer from Mission, South Dakota, is headed to the slammer.
Jesse James Beauvais, 43, was sentenced to 2 months in custody for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
According to court documents, the conviction stems from a raid on Beauvais’ residence between January 5, 2013, and January 11, 2013.
Agents with the Northern Plains Save Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force discovered over a kilo of marijuana, $8,447.00 in cash, four firearms, two bullet proof vests, and other drug-related items.
Beauvais was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 10, 2014, and pleaded guilty on September 22, 2014.
U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced the sentencing, which also includes 2 years of supervised release, a $1,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay Miller prosecuted the case.
Beauvais was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, bringing an end to his dealings in the black market.
