Misti Traversie, Methamphetamine Distribution, South Dakota 2018

South Dakota woman, Misti Traversie, was recently sentenced for distributing a controlled substance.

Misti Traversie, 37, was convicted of Distribution of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) in Eagle Butte, South Dakota. This is according to a press release issued on May 22, 2018 by United States Attorney Ron Parsons.

Traversie was sentenced to 3 months in custody, 3 years of supervised release, and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.

Traversie was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 14, 2017. She pled guilty on March 8, 2018.

The charges against Traversie stem from her admitting to distributing methamphetamine to another individual for money on August 24, 2016 in Eagle Butte, South Dakota. It is also reported that this was not a single instance as Traversie admitted to distributing methamphetamine on at least one other occasion. Methamphetamine is a Schedule II controlled substance.

This case was investigated by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services Narcotics Division and the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney SaraBeth Donovan prosecuted the case.

Traversie was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
