Child Pornography Ring Busted: Man Jailed for 78 Months

A Monmouth County man has been sentenced to serve 78 months in prison for possessing child pornography, including violent video images, on his computer.

Danial Hillman, 28, of Atlantic Highlands, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in federal court. U.S. District Judge Joel A. Pisano imposed the sentence.

According to court documents, undercover law enforcement officers downloaded videos and images of child pornography from Hillman’s computer via peer-to-peer file sharing software as early as December 6, 2010. The images included three videos of three children under the age of 12 being sexually abused.

On April 12, 2011, law enforcement officers from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Atlantic Highlands Police Department executed a search warrant at Hillman’s home, seizing multiple computers. One of the computers contained images depicting child pornography, including sadistic conduct and other violent images involving minors.

U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman praised special agents of the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, in New Jersey, as well as the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Atlantic Highlands Police Department, for their work on the case.

Hillman will serve five years of supervised release, with computer-use monitoring, and must register as a sex offender. The government was represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney John E. Clabby, and Hillman was defended by Charles F. Clark Esq. of Freehold, N.J.
