Robert Marshall Jr., a 33-year-old Montgomery, Alabama man, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for distributing methamphetamine and possessing a firearm. The trouble started on February 6, 2023, when Marshall was pulled over by law enforcement in Montgomery. A search of his vehicle turned up 20 grams of meth, a digital scale, and a handgun. As a convicted felon, Marshall was prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
Marshall pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on February 25, 2026. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Montgomery Police Department, and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Mark E. Andreu and John J. Geer, III.
The sentence, handed down by a United States District Court Judge on July 9, 2026, includes 140 months in prison, followed by four years of supervised release. With no parole in the federal system, Marshall will have to serve his full sentence.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating transnational criminal organizations and protecting communities from violent crime.
