Montgomery’s notorious sex traffickers, Kimani Jones and Tremayne Lambert, have been found guilty by a federal jury in the Middle District of Alabama. The men, also known as ‘Statik’ and ‘Bayrock,’ respectively, were sentenced for their roles in a chilling sex trafficking ring that targeted women and minors.
Jones, 32, was convicted of compelling seven victims, including two minors, to engage in commercial sex acts from August 2016 to November 2020. He also transported and caused the transport of two minors across state lines for prostitution purposes. Lambert, 50, was found guilty of trafficking three victims over multiple periods.
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon emphasized the Justice Department’s commitment to protecting human trafficking victims. ‘The defendants exploited vulnerabilities with disregard for human dignity,’ Dhillon said, underscoring the severity of their crimes.
According to trial evidence, Jones ran a vast commercial sex operation, controlling every aspect from advertising and customer relations to setting rules and dictating earnings. He regularly used violence, including physical assaults and sexual abuse, to maintain control over his victims. Lambert was also charged with using threats against the victims’ children as leverage.
Jones’s behavior was further described as menacing; he once choked a minor victim for moving too slowly, and repeatedly struck women until they were injured. He used firearms in their presence, and exploited victims’ drug addictions to force them into continued commercial sex acts.
As the trial concluded, Acting U.S. Attorney Kevin Davidson vowed to continue pursuing justice for those who prey on others. ‘Every victim deserves justice,’ Davidson said, reinforcing the department’s dedication to holding traffickers accountable.
