Morgan Hancock Jr., Cocaine Trafficking, Kentucky 2023

A notorious Christian County felon has been slapped with a slew of serious charges, including cocaine trafficking, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Morgan Hancock Jr., 45, of Pembroke, Kentucky, is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum sentence of 60 years in prison if convicted.

According to the indictment, Hancock was charged with possessing over 500 grams of cocaine with the intent to distribute it, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

A previous conviction in Christian Circuit Court of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance prohibited Hancock from possessing a firearm.

The case is being investigated by the DEA Paducah Post of Duty Office and the ATF Bowling Green Field Office with assistance from various law enforcement agencies.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Leigh Ann Dycus is prosecuting the case, which is part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods program.

U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett and other federal agents announced the indictment on March 14, 2023, but Hancock made his initial court appearance on March 24, 2023.
