Tressa Thompson, 46, Sentenced to 70 Months’ Imprisonment for Methamphetamine Conspiracy

In a federal court, Tressa Thompson, 46, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced to 70 months’ imprisonment for her role in a methamphetamine conspiracy. The sentence was handed down by United States Judge John M. Gerrard on June 16, 2022.

Thompson was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of pure methamphetamine. The investigation revealed that Thompson was involved in a scheme where she received methamphetamine from a co-defendant and resold it.

The co-defendant, whose identity was not disclosed, is set to stand trial on August 22, 2022, before the same judge. The evidence presented in court showed that the co-defendant was providing methamphetamine to Thompson, who would then sell it.

On December 17, 2020, officers with the Omaha Police Department had contact with Thompson and the co-defendant while they were parked on the street. The co-defendant attempted to flee, discarding a pound of methamphetamine in the process. Thompson remained in the passenger seat with a Tupperware container containing more methamphetamine.

During the arrest, officers seized 640 grams of pure methamphetamine and $2,810 in cash from the vehicle. Phone records also revealed that the co-defendant was providing methamphetamine to Thompson.

As part of her sentence, Thompson will serve a five-year term of supervised release following her imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. Additionally, Thompson forfeited any interest in the seized $2,810.

This case was investigated by the Omaha Police Department and the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation was a result of a collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies to combat methamphetamine trafficking in the area.
