Harrisburg Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Trafficking Methamphetamine

A 21-year-old Harrisburg man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking ring that operated in the city. Muhammad Adnan, 21, was sentenced by Senior United States District Judge Malachy E. Mannion on July 2, 2025, for his involvement in the distribution of methamphetamine in quantities of 50 grams and more on multiple occasions from November 2023 until February 2024.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus, Adnan was indicted along with three codefendants for their roles in distributing methamphetamine in Harrisburg. The codefendants include Urias Williams, Aaron Pitts, and Aaron Gambino. Williams has pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing, while Pitts is scheduled for trial on October 6, 2025. Gambino remains a fugitive.

The case was investigated by a joint task force consisting of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Capital City Safe Streets Task Force, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Dauphin County Drug Task Force, and the Harrisburg Bureau of Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Consiglio is prosecuting the case.

Adnan had previously pleaded guilty to distributing methamphetamine on February 27, 2025. The sentencing marks the latest development in Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating the scourge of methamphetamine trafficking and other violent crimes.

Operation Take Back America is a collaborative effort between the federal government and local law enforcement agencies to tackle the root causes of violent crime and protect communities from the devastating effects of methamphetamine trafficking. The operation streamlines efforts and resources from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

It is worth noting that indictments are only allegations, and all persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court. The sentencing of Muhammad Adnan serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of engaging in methamphetamine trafficking and the importance of continued collaboration between law enforcement agencies to combat this scourge.

Adnan’s sentencing is a significant blow to the methamphetamine trafficking ring that operated in Harrisburg, and it is hoped that this development will serve as a deterrent to others who would seek to engage in similar activities.
