Dante Bailey, Racketeering, Maryland 2024

Four towering figures of the Murdaland Mafia Piru (MMP) gang, a ruthless subset of the Bloods, have been found guilty in federal court following a grueling six-week trial. Dante Bailey, alias ‘Gutta,’ ‘Almighty,’ and ‘Wolf’ at 40 years old from Windsor Mill; Jamal Lockley, known as ‘T-Roy’ and ‘Droid’ at 40 from Baltimore; Corloyd Anderson, or ‘Bo,’ aged 36 from Owings Mills; and Shakeen Davis, moniker ‘Creams,’ aged 24 from Baltimore, all faced a jury’s verdict that could land them behind bars for life.

These convictions come after the gang’s reign of terror across Northwest Baltimore City and Baltimore County. The defendants were accused of gun violence, drug trafficking, and intimidation tactics tied to MMP’s operations, which included controlling drug markets and using lethal force to enforce their dominance. Co-defendant Randy Banks, alias ‘Dirt,’ was also found guilty of drug trafficking conspiracy but acquitted on the racketeering count.

U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur, Special Agent in Charge Rob Cekada from ATF, Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison, and local law enforcement officials stood united in their condemnation of the gang’s activities. ‘These gang members brought terror and death to Baltimore neighborhoods with guns and drugs,’ Hur stated. ‘They face up to life in federal prison, where there are no suspended sentences and no parole—ever.’

ATF Special Agent Cekada echoed this sentiment: ‘The gun violence resulting from these gang turf wars is tearing this city apart. We remain committed to identifying, investigating, and incarcerating anyone using firearms to commit violent crimes.’

Evidence at trial painted a picture of MMP as an organized crime syndicate modeled after the Italian Mafia. The gang, led by Bailey, operated in a hierarchical structure with strict rules against cooperation with law enforcement, with violations meted out with severe punishment. MMP members used social media to assert their territories and intimidate rivals, as well as to display their power and prowess.

The jury’s guilty verdicts are a major victory for law enforcement and a stark reminder of the consequences facing those who choose a life of crime in Baltimore’s violent underworld.
