Former murderer Francisco Alan Martinez Camara, 36, received a 69-month sentence for illegal reentry into the United States, announced Nancy E. Larson, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.
Martinez Camara, a Mexican national, entered a guilty plea in March 2025 for his second offense of illegally returning to the U.S. after being deported. His first conviction came in March 2022 in the Western District of Texas, where he served six months before deportation in 2016.
In April 2013, Martinez Camara was convicted of murder in Webb County, Texas. He now faces his second federal prison term for illegal reentry after removal, a crime that has garnered significant attention from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
On June 16th, Chief District Judge David C. Godbey emphasized the severity of immigration violations, stating that any future offenses would likely carry increased penalties. The court’s stern message came as Martinez Camara was sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison.
Prosecutor Assistant U.S. Attorney Marissa Aulbaugh led the case against Martinez Camara, who now has two convictions for illegal reentry and a murder conviction on his record.
The investigation was conducted by ICE, showcasing the agency’s relentless pursuit of individuals who violate immigration laws after removal from the United States.
