MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has dropped a重磅 charge against Samy Zrida. The North Carolina resident, 43 years old from Taylorsville, has pleaded guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine.
According to the charges, on January 28, 2025, Zrida was caught with a substantial amount of Schedule II controlled substances. He intentionally possessed over 500 grams of methamphetamine and over 5 kilograms of cocaine, both with the intent to distribute. The consequences are severe: Zrida could spend at least ten years behind bars and pay a fine of $10,000,000 for each count.
The investigation was led by no less than the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, illustrating the gravity of the crime. U.S. Magistrate Judge Jason A. Robertson has accepted Zrida’s guilty plea and ordered a presentence investigation report to be completed.
Richard J. Lorenz, Assistant U.S. Attorney, represented the United States in this case. The final sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other relevant factors. Until then, Zrida remains in the custody of the United States Marshals Service.
This conviction sends a stark message to those involved in drug trafficking that the federal government is serious about cracking down on illegal substance distribution.
