Nesly Loute, 14 Years For PIP Scheme, Florida 2016

Fort Myers, FL – In a shocking revelation, Nesly Loute, a 52-year-old Naples man, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for his involvement in a brazen scheme to defraud automobile insurance companies. The scheme, which has been described as a ‘PIP’ scheme, saw Loute and his co-conspirators operating unlicensed chiropractic clinics and bilking insurance companies out of over $2 million.

According to the evidence presented during the six-day trial, Loute conspired with others to operate these unlicensed clinics and bill insurance companies for Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits. The scammers also paid patients to induce them to seek treatment at the unlicensed clinics, so that the insurance companies could be billed for their PIP benefits.

But that’s not all – members of the conspiracy also staged motor vehicle accidents and then submitted claims to insurance companies for PIP benefits based on those fake accidents. This was a ruthless scheme that saw the conspirators making off with millions of dollars at the expense of innocent people who were trying to get insurance coverage for legitimate injuries.

The scheme was finally uncovered after a thorough investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation – Fort Myers Office, the State of Florida’s Department of Financial Services Division of Insurance Frauds – Fort Myers Office, the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation in Fort Myers, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, Fort Myers.

Loute was found guilty by a federal jury on September 29, 2016. He is now facing the consequences of his actions and will have to serve 14 years in prison for his role in this brazen scheme.

But Loute is not the only one who has been brought to justice. Five others have previously pleaded guilty to charges related to this conspiracy, including Garry Joseph, Anouce Toussaint, Maria Victoria Lopez, David Adamson, and Wisler Cyrius. The sentences for these individuals range from 3 years’ probation to 37 months’ imprisonment.

It’s a victory for justice and a warning to those who would seek to defraud innocent people for their own gain. The insurance companies that were defrauded in this scheme include Travelers, Nationwide, Bristol West, Esurance, Windhaven, Farmers, Direct General, Allstate, State Farm, Progressive, Geico, Infinity, and Foremost.
