New Albany Man Jailed 30 Months for Interstate Prostitution Ring
A 34-year-old New Albany, Indiana man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for his role in a prostitution ring that transported women from Indiana to Louisville for commercial sex acts.
David McNeary, 34, pleaded guilty to three charges of interstate transportation for prostitution. He was charged by grand jury indictment on May 20, 2015, and arrested on May 22, 2015, in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
According to the plea agreement, McNeary transported four different adult females from Indiana to Kentucky between January and March 2014, with the intent that they engage in prostitution. The case was investigated by the FBI.
The 30-month sentence was handed down by Chief Judge Joseph H. McKinley, Jr. in U.S. District Court. McNeary had been placed on home detention with work release prior to his sentencing.
Assistant United States Attorney Amanda Gregory prosecuted the case. McNeary’s arrest and conviction highlight the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to combat human trafficking and prostitution.
