Kendale Adams, Fentanyl & Gun Smuggling, Louisiana 2023

New Orleans native Kendale Adams, 41, has found himself in the dock once again for his role in a fentanyl and firearm conspiracy. On February 7, 2023, Adams stood before the court to admit guilt on multiple counts.

According to authorities, Adams was observed loitering outside a convenience store in New Orleans on July 17, 2021. A bulge in his waistband caught the eye of an FBI Task Force Officer, leading to the discovery of a concealed firearm and a significant stash of drugs.

The law enforcement team, including officers from the New Orleans Police Department, converged on Adams, who fled but was quickly apprehended. During the arrest, they seized a Glock Model 19 firearm, confirmed to be stolen, along with bags containing methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl. Adams’ previous criminal history, which includes multiple felony convictions, made it illegal for him to possess the gun.

Investigations revealed that Adams had a history of distributing dangerous substances in New Orleans. The court heard evidence that he had dealt drugs near the 1300 block of France Street on numerous occasions prior to his arrest.

Judge Evans announced severe penalties for Adams, including potential sentences of up to twenty years for drug distribution and ten years for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Adams faces fines upwards of $1 million and mandatory special assessment fees as part of his sentence.

This case was the result of a joint investigation by the FBI and NOPD, with Assistant United States Attorney André Jones leading the prosecution.
