A New York City man, John Roesser (age 42), is facing 10 years in prison for his role in a brazen $5 million money laundering scheme, Grimy Times has learned.
According to court documents, Roesser, a resident of New York City, used his business to launder illicit funds, earning him a spot in the crosshairs of federal investigators.
The United States v. ROESSER case, filed in the District Court of the Southern District of New York, docket number 1:23-cr-00155, outlines the intricate web of deceit woven by Roesser and his associates.
Prosecutors allege that Roesser, through his business, knowingly laundered $5 million in illicit funds, evading taxes and skirting financial regulations.
The case, which has been ongoing since 2023, has seen Roesser’s lawyers, Steven John Kochevar and Mark I. Cohen, fight to clear their client’s name.
However, the evidence presented in court paints a damning picture of Roesser’s involvement in the money laundering operation, leaving little doubt as to his guilt.
As the case comes to a close, Roesser’s fate hangs in the balance. A conviction will see him sentenced to up to 10 years in prison, leaving many to wonder how such a brazen scheme went undetected for so long.
