BUFFALO, N.Y. – In a grim twist of justice, Randy Colucci, 34, from Niagara Falls, NY, has entered a guilty plea in federal court for possession of child pornography. The charge against Colucci, which involves prepubescent minors, carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Lamarque revealed that the investigation began in April 2017 when a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agent discovered child pornography on a peer-to-peer website. This digital trail led to Colucci’s residence, where a search warrant uncovered further evidence of his depraved acts.
Colucci’s digital media contained explicit images and videos of children under the age of 10, including scenes of violent sexual assaults. His history only adds to the gravity of this crime: he is currently on parole for a manslaughter conviction involving the death of his two-year-old daughter in 2011.
The plea comes after an extensive investigation by HSI, directed by Special Agent-in-Charge Kevin Kelly. Sentencing for Colucci has been scheduled for September 16, 2019.
