NORFOLK, Va. — Alvin Norlee Moore III, 29, of Norfolk, has been sentenced to 188 months in prison for sex trafficking a child.
Moore was found guilty of forcing a 15-year-old girl, identified as ‘Jane Doe,’ to prostitute for him in the Tidewater area. The victim fled from Moore after several weeks of abuse, and her family contacted the Virginia Beach Police Department.
Moore’s history of violence against young women dates back to 2010, and he was previously arrested by the Virginia Beach Police before being transferred to federal custody.
U.S. District Judge Mark S. Davis presided over the sentencing, with Dana J. Boente, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and John S. Adams, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Norfolk Field Office, attending the hearing.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth M. Yusi prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the FBI’s Norfolk Field Office and the Virginia Beach Police Department.
Moore will also serve 15 years of supervised release following his prison sentence.
The case highlights the ongoing issue of human trafficking in the United States, and law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to bring perpetrators like Moore to justice.
