19 Years in the Slammer for Norristown Meth Kingpin
SCRANTON – In a high-profile case, Tylee Brown, a 39-year-old Norristown resident, has been handed a 19-year prison sentence for his role in a massive methamphetamine trafficking operation in the Scranton area.
On April 23, 2024, U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani delivered the harsh verdict, bringing an end to a case that saw Brown plead guilty to possessing over 1.5 kilograms of high-quality crystal methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it to other individuals in the Susquehanna County area.
According to United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam, Brown admitted to traveling from Montgomery County to distribute the crystal methamphetamine to other individuals in Susquehanna County in April 2020. Brown’s operation was brought to a grinding halt on April 30, 2020, when the Pennsylvania State Police apprehended him in Susquehanna County and seized approximately four pounds of crystal methamphetamine from a vehicle in which Brown was traveling.
The investigation into Brown’s operation was a joint effort between the Pennsylvania State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Assistant United States Attorney Robert J. O’Hara prosecuted the case, which has significant implications for public safety in the Scranton area.
