Nicollas Troy Johnson, Enticement of Minor, Nebraska 2024

Lincoln, NE – A North Dakota man has been sentenced to 7 years in prison for coercing and enticing a 14-year-old girl from Nebraska.

United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced the sentencing of 25-year-old Nicollas Troy Johnson, formerly of Harwood, North Dakota, for his role in the enticement of a minor. Johnson was sentenced by United States District Judge John M. Gerrard in Lincoln, Nebraska.

According to court documents, in July 2017, the Beatrice Police Department received a report that the 14-year-old girl had left a note stating she was running away. Her father also informed police that she had been messaging someone known as ‘Nico Johnson’ via FaceTime.

A review of the minor’s Facebook account and open source databases revealed ‘Nico Johnson’ to be Nicollas Johnson, residing in Harwood, North Dakota. Johnson was contacted at his residence and acknowledged being friends with the minor, but denied that she had ever been to his home.

A search of his residence was conducted, but the minor was not located. However, she was later found at a Super 8 Hotel in Fargo, North Dakota, where she initially provided false information about her identity and reason for being in North Dakota.

Eventually, the minor acknowledged her true identity and stated that Johnson had picked her up in Nebraska and driven her to his home in North Dakota. Johnson was subsequently arrested and admitted to his relationship with the minor.

Johnson was sentenced to 7 years in prison, and he will be required to register as a sex offender and serve 60 months on supervised release. The case was investigated by the Beatrice Police Department, the Grand Forks Police Department, and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office of Grand Forks, North Dakota.
