Child Predator Jailed on Sex Charges
Missoula, MT – In a shocking case, Edward Timothy Cockerham, 42, of Kalispell, was arraigned on charges of sexual exploitation of a child. The accused faces a minimum 15 years to 30 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and five years to life of supervised release if convicted.
The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. Cockerham was detained pending further proceedings.
This disturbing case serves as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance in protecting our children from predators. The U.S. Attorney’s Office is committed to bringing those who commit these heinous crimes to justice.
The case was heard before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kathleen L. DeSoto on July 8. Cockerham is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
